A note from Muffin : Snowy day

The days are getting colder and colder,
I am so happy that I have fur, and the fact that I'm gaining some weight also helps to keep me warm.

It was snowing this morning when mommy was about to go to school.
But since there is no bus operating to take mom to school, and it seems to dangerous if Daddy took mom to school, Mom decided to stay at home, and together with daddy, they took me out on a walk.
In the snow !

I am so excited, it is my first snow.
When I live in Shanghai, there isn't any snow for me.

Mommy put on my red scarf (it's not my favourite, by I let mommy put it on me, because she thought I look handsome with it).
Mommy and Daddy got dressed up, getting ready to go out in the cold weather.
I was so excited I can't sit still when she put on my leash.

The snow was a little bit cold on my paws, but I like it.

Daddy hold my leash, while mommy take some pictures, she wants to make sure that every moment is captured.
It's my 1st SNOW ! big thing, you know ?!

A beautiful Sunday

• I drove to the Church, and I enjoy it. I go to Holy Family Kirkland Church every Sunday morning, and it's really close from where we live. It's a nice church and I love it. They have children in the choir, and it really bring a joy in my heart to hear them sing. Hope someday, my kids will grow to know and love God.
• It is snowing ! First only a little bit, then gradually more and more snow landed on earth. I took Muffin for his 1st walk in the snow, and I'm so glad that he seems to enjoy it. We'll see when it's all snowy on the street. I didn't take picture, because I forgot my phone and needles to say my camera.
• I am in the process of choosing my engagement pictures to be edited and printed out, I will get it done by today. I promise. How hard it is to choose 100 pics out of several hundreds ?
• The Adidas down jacket which I bought in Shanghai earlier this year is really worth the money I spent. I felt comfortably warm wearing them. The only thing I really consider to buy is a snow boots, since my toes felt so cold till it hurts. 
• My husband is wonderful ! This is what makes my life so happy. 

A note from Muffin

Hi everyone ! I'm Muffin, the luckiest dog in the world.

Mommy and Daddy adopted me last August, from Mommy's friend.

Then I got showered with so much love, and a lots of discipline and training, and since mommy and daddy love me so much, on June 2010, I flew to Vancouver with daddy, and now I've been living in Seattle in a big house with a big yard.

I am so happy, I love my parents.

The thing is, I still have accident inside the house.

This morning I pooped in front of the TV on the basement. Daddy was so upset,

and mommy almost broke her hand carrying 1 gallon of anti odor solution for the carpet.

I wish mommy and daddy know that I didn't do it on purpose.

I wish I could help my self.

Even though I did bad thing today, mommy forgive me.

She clean up roast chicken today, and she mixed some chicken with my dog food.

It's so delicious.

I've been gaining some weight, you know ?!

But it's important, because winter is coming, and the weather is getting cold and wet *yuck!*

Ok, I gotta go now, mommy needs to use the computer to do her homework.

I will stay beside her and watch her, and probably fall asleep.

Sicky Pup

Yesterday morning, I woke up by Muffin's noise.
His stomach is contracting, and I knew right away that he is going to barf.
And he did. Once, then I clean it and go back to bed.
In the end, he did it 3 times in 10 mins, and when I was done with cleaning the 3rd round, I saw him squatting near the washing machine, and soon after there's a big pile of poop there. Strangely he continue to squat, and soon after, there's another poop on the floor, it's just not a good shaped poop.
And it has some blood on it.

This is not Muffin's normal behavior, because he is house broken already.
Barfing is pretty normal, because sometimes his stomach is uncomfortable, so it's ok with us.
But pooping inside the house ?? and bloody too ???
That's problem.


We got dressed right away, and arrive in the pet hospital near our house in 20 mins.
Doctor Xu (徐医生） was there, a small lady, but you can feel that she is capable on what she is doing.
She weigh Muffin (5,85kg), and check on his temperature (It was 39,5C)
The temperature is pretty high, and the blood in the poop is also a concern.
So she stick a needle on Muffin's right front foot (which Muffin of course fight!), and draw some blood from him.
2 of the results are higher than it supposed to be, and it is related with his liver.
The doctor give him a shot of medicine, and another capsules to be put on his food.
And she advice us to come back again the day after.

We came back to the hospital this afternoon, and it was Doctor Wang (王医生） there.
He is pretty concern about our pup's liver condition, and he wants to pay close attention to it.
He put Muffin into an IV treatment, and give another prescription of medicine to protect his liver.

It was pretty sad to see our pup getting his IV treatment.
I hate to see his eyes, which like saying "Hey, why do you leave me alone in here, with needle sticking on my foot !?"
But we do what we have to do, to ensure that he will be having a nice and healthy liver. If he needs to get an IV, then he will get it.

We came back 4 hours later, to find that he is not done yet, there is still another IV treatment that he should get.
And in 30 mins its all done, and he is ready to go home.
He seems to be very relieved to leave the hospital, and peed right away.
We walk till the Maotai Rd (茅台路-威宁路）near our house, then we put him on the bicycle basket, and ride home.
We stop at a little park near our house, just at FuRongJiang Rd （芙蓉江路）, and sit there and talk for a little bit, we're sick of sitting down inside our little house all day long.

On the walk back home, Muffin peed again (2nd time in 1 hour), and was very happy to be in the house again.

The pup is ok, he is still his normal self, happy, and cheerful dog, very energetic, but something must be wrong on his liver, and we hope that he will be completely healthy soon.

We will know in 1 week, as we need to go back and get his blood checked again.

She Shan trip and dog's playdate

Today we arranged a play date between our dog, Muffin with with John and Song Shen (Bill's colleague and his wife)'s dog, Newton.

We went to their apartment around noon, and then Song Shen drove us to She Shan's park in Pudong Area.

It's a big park where you can have fun, and you can bring your dog to have fun together (unlike most other parks in China)
We pay the ticket, 80 RMB/adult, and 30RMB/dog. And starts our fun time.

It was sunny and hot (summer !), and we walk around to find a spot to sit.
The park was is so nice and big.
It has lots of grass, and they have a lake, and sandy beach !!

We start to walk the dog on the sand, off leash.
And I was walking near the water to lure Muffin to get closer and check the water.
Muffin came over, and start to drink from the lake...
then he walk closer closer and closer, and then his feet are on the water.
Newton came over and did the same thing too.
Muffin walk further away from the beach, and suddenly half of his body is in the water !!!
And Newton did the same thing too !
Both dogs look so happy and proud of themselves, and I was surprised too
I thought wimpy muffin won't be able to get himself to the water, but he did !!!

Then Bill and John took off their shoes and walk into the water as well, to play with the dogs.
And they also throw the dogs into the water.
We have 2 wet dogs, and it was so funny to see them swimming back to the beach.

Muffin got really wet and looks really skinny like a rat... hahaha....

 Then we ate some bbq, and we got into this bouncy dome and of course we have to try it !!

Then we walk down to find some place to lay down in the shade, and we need to pass some obstacle, like the one we find if we're hiking, and Muffin did it very very very well !!!

It's really great, we are very proud of him.

He's so active and he is so great in the nature !!!

We are very positive that he will do good in the nature or wilderness or during hiking

I'm a proud mom, because Muffin finally gain weight !!
We can see him a little bit bigger now, and we are happy about it !
After the painful neutering process, Muffin been eating a lot.
His appetite is just really good.

And since he lost lots of hair, we bought him a supplement for his hair, and hopefully it works.
So Muffin will become a nice and beautiful, happy and healthy dog !

Now that he already gain weight, all we need to do is to make sure that he have enough exercise and not eating too much, so he won't be too fat.

Yay !

Nursing Muffin

Muffin doing well, his scrotum is swollen and red, but overall, he got his appetite back.
Nursing a dog who just gone under a major surgery equals patience and perseverance.
Last night when he finally allowed to eat, we fed him both Royal Canin Neutered combine with Eukanuba Puppy for Small Breed.
Since Muffin has his cone collar on, means he can't eat by himself, so I put his dog food on my palm, and fed him.
He refused to drink water last night, so I let him, eventhough I'm worry, because it was already 24hrs since the last time he drank.
This morning when I woke up, I found poop near the fridge, which is a good sign. Our puppy digesting his food, and we feel relieved.
We took him to the vet again, to get his antibiotic shot.
He peed on the weighing scale, and once again, we feel good about him peepee :)
The doctor look onto Muffin's red and swollen scrotum, and said it is normal.
We just need to keep the floor clean, so he won't get any infection.

Muffin still refuse to drink when we brought him back from the vet.
So Bill came up with a cup of water, and I told Bill to use spoon.
He didn't want to lick the water in the spoon, so I press the side of his mouth to make it open, and managed to put 3 spoon of water to him.
And till now, Muffin drank half cup of water already, all given to him by spoon, and he already finished one meal.
I hope he will get better soon.

Muffin got neutered

Today is a big day and also a sad day for Muffin.

Harry, Chase's dog, whose been staying with us for the last 5 days is going home.
Muffin seems to be pretty sad about it for a little bit, but he don't have so much time to be sad, because not long after that, we took him to the animal hospital, to get him neutered.

He was scared when we got inside, and I told them that I want to get Muffin neutered.
Then the vet assistant weigh him, and he weighs 5.95KG !
Not long after, they give him a shot for his heart, and 10 mins later, an anesthesia shot to put him under.

Operation starts, and I managed to peek from the window to see the process.
There was some blood, but not super a lot.
And I saw the vet took his balls out, cut it, and sew him back up.

Once the surgery is done, they open the door and Muffin was already awake !

He made a crying noise, and it was so sad to see him like that.

Muffin don't like the collar at all, and I don't know if its the pants or the collar, but it make him sit in one place only.

And the worst part is that he has been prepared for the surgery since yesterday night, no food or water, and he can't drink or eat till 8pm tonight, which makes it 24hr !!!!

I hope he'll get well soon, its just too sad to see baby sick....(yes, I starts to call him baby the past 1 week)

total cost for the surgery, all the shots : anesthesia and I think 3x antibiotics, one today and for the next 2 days), special dog food (Royal Canin Adult Neutered, 1,5kg) , cone collar, and probably some other things I forgot, it is RMB 1,100 !!! or according to today's rate : US$160,962 !!!

Very very not cheap....oh lala....

And a good news, I heard something about me will become an aunt in September or October !! :D

It's a happy news, but somehow makes me a little bit sad, because I want one too !

It will be a couple years to go for me.... *sigh*

This year we didn't do ANYTHING for CNY.

On the day time, we took the dogs out to the park.

Harry, a mini collie,he is Chase's (my colleague) dog who stays with us from 10-16th of Feb.

In the evening,

We just ate dinner, then we ride bike to see people lid up their firecrackers and fireworks.

Around 23.50, we ran outside to experienced the war zone, since there are soooo many firecrackers and fireworks, it was super duper loud.

It was scary too, because some people just put their firecrackers and lid them without really paying attention to safety.

And when we went out last night, it was snowing ! :D

And Today ??

We practically did nothing.

Just went out for dinner at Korean Restaurant. Happy Valentine's day ! <3 <3 <3

It was raining and gloomy and cloudy. COLD !

I read so much about diagnostic ultrasound class, I even email the college to ask some questions about the program.

So, I might do it. :)

I have an interest on it. We'll see.

Try to calm myself down....

So yeah,
lately I've been freaking out for things which happened in my life lately.

I've been worrying all the time, loose some weight and loose hairs.

So I decided to re-united with God, to seek for peace and calm.
Well, I haven't pray so much lately, but I think I could start over.
And today I finally feel pretty good.

I read the bible, and I read this blog which has the "daily bread", and feel good about it, I pray too.
And I also listening to Lukisan Pagi, a song by Tohpati ft. Shakila :

So, hope I will be in this spirit all the time, and I won't be too easy to worry about stuffs.

Saturday

Me and bill went to Qipulu (a cheap clothing market in SH) to get some cheap (but warm) pajamas.
It was around 1130 when we got there.
1st we bought our pajamas, 29RMB for a set of long sleeve-long pants pajamas a.k.a CHEAP !
Then we wander around and there's these guys who always offering to Bill "What do you want ?? Do you want a bag ? watches, sir sir !?!?"
1st-2nd encounter, those people aren't so pushy, but then on the 3rd guy, he IS !!
He repeat the same questions like any other people did.
We said : NO
But then this guy keep on following us, and keep on talking.
Again, we said : NO
But he didnt give up, he insisted us to go and see the stuffs that he sells (oh, they usually offer FAKE stuffs, u know, like fake LV, Abercrombie, etc)
We said no all the time, till we got really upset, And scream at him "WE DONT WANT ANYTHING !!!"
but he still following us *sigh*
Then we saw a hat store, we got in, and look for some hats, and that guy finally GO (to hell !!)

After a short time at Qipulu, we went shopping at Uniqlo....BETTER !
at least its a store. No crazy people there.
Bill bought a cool cardigan (old man style, I love!)
and I bought a belt with lots of studs... (YAY!)

And we went home

7pm I met so and Rossy at Istanbul, a Turkish Restaurant, get a goooood dinner and watch 2012 after that.
It was nice to meet my friends !
And the movie was good too (even though the seats are BAD *ouch*)

Sunday
Bill went to teach early morning.
I took muffin out to buy some vegetables, sharpen the knives.
Then I coook !!
I made :

1. Sayur Lodeh
2. Pisang Goreng
3. Bacan (pork with potato)
4. Telur dadar

ALL Simple food, but delicious !!

I especially love bacan, this is the first time I made it.

The recipe is :
Ingredients :

1. Pork meat
2. potato
3. red onion
4. lemon (1 is enough)
   
5. sweet soy sauce
6. cooking oil
7. salt and pepper
   

To Cook :

1. Diced the onion
2. cut pork meat into thin slices (1/4 cm width), marinade with half of lemon juice
   
3. cut potato (1/4cm width), deef fry them
4. put oil on the pan, put in the onion
5. Put pork and cook till its done, and all the juice is dry
6. put potato in, add Sweet soy sauce (kecap manis)
7. add the rest half of lemon juice
8. salt and pepper !

EAT !! :D


For sayur lodeh, dont forget to put in terasi :D
And for pisang goreng, mix the dough with CHEESE !! yummy.... :D

All the food went good !

So then I clean up the house, Sweep and mop the floor.
Do some laundries.

It was a good weekend ! :D

Muffin is ours !!

Remember last time I wrote about Muffin, our friend's dog who stay with us ?
Well, since yesterday, Muffin is ours.

Hesitant to go through all the troubles of bring him to Indonesia in such a short time, while there's lot of things to be taken care of, Bill decided that we should just keep the dog. So we asked the owner whether we can just keep it or not, and they are fine with it.
So for the rest of his life, Muffin is ours !

We will train him nicely so next year he can come with us to the States, and stay at Bill's mom house and not making any trouble.
We started to imagine him with his little backpack, take him on a hiking trip, sleep with us inside the tent, and bring him to the dog park.
Hope he will get along nicely with Sophie and Max (Bill's in-law dogs which I really love)
I also hope that we could train him to be off leash.
Ohhh...we have a dog !! for at least the next 10 years, we will have Muffin with us !

Muffin the dog

Muffin, rossy's dog is living with us now.
He's so cute and not so noisy.
He barked sometimes.
It's only been one night, we should observe better.

Our tiny apartment is soooo full with animals now !!
