August 1, 2010 Celebration of my Departure

I am about to leave soon.
I do feel sad to leave my comfort zone, but at the same time, also excited (and nervous) to start my new life in my new what-so-called HOME

So, we gather in grandma's house, and I asked 2 of my best boy friends, Erik & Edison to come...
It was super fun, when my aunties try to be matchmaker between Erik and Helen.
It was so funny, to see Erik's face turned red, while Helen stay cool (both in their own personality!)
We laughed so hard till we hurt our stomach !

Near Accident Experience

I almost got into a car accident when I was driving at Tol Tanjung Priok, and suddenly I heard 'ciiiiittt.....!" and a white pick up car in front of me stopped so fast and almost went into the other lane.
Luckily I made it to stop my car on time, so I didn't bump into that car, and when I look into the mirror, the car on the back of mine looks so near !


It was close,
and I was so lucky.


I am safe :)
Thank you God, and my driving skill (of course! :p )

June Reunion with Jojoba

Yesterday, I met jojoba friends at Pacific Place, a new mall (for me, at least !) in Jakarta.

I got there at 3, wander around with Edison, sat at Starbucks until 5, meet the rest of the groups, then headed to Kiyadon, a Japanese Restaurant, where we will sit and talk for the next 4 hours !

All of them (except Edison) are getting married within 1 year!How cool is that ??

Topic of that day was of course : WEDDING !!!

I will go first by getting married this August,

follow by Cindy at the beginning of September,

Ledy's will be in the end of October,

While Christine's is the day after Christmas,

Siska might be on May 2011,

And last but not least, Rendy planned to marry Levi next year.

Super happy,

but could be better if more Jojoba are there.

June Reunion

June is a month full with reunion.

First is the grand reunion with family members, parents, uncles-aunts, cousins, and dogs :)

Then second is reunion with friends, meet up with Astrid, Kurnia and Devi at Cafe Hema in Kemang Pratama :

Did I mention that she is a mother of two girls ??

Anything (make sense) for the reproduction sakes !

I've been having back problem for quite a while now.
Like, I will have a hard time to straightened up my back after I sat for a while.
It hurts.

So, here in Indo, we know a therapist who do the reflexology thing.
And by reflexology is that she really press the points on your body, and it if you have some health problem, that point will hurts like hell !

She fixed my pinkie finger last year, when it was so stiff, I can't bend it over.
One therapy, and it's all good.

So today is the same thing, sitting down, and she starts by pressing my foot.
It hurts a little bit here and there, but I have high tolerance of pain (which she said that it means I have a strong mentality as well), so I was just sitting and looking on what she is doing.

Then she press my back, I can feel it, feels good, but also not painful.

Then she move to my EAR !
FYI, I have 8 piercings on my ear, 5 on the left and 3 on the right, and GEEZ, it HURTS like hell !!!
She said "what is this ? oh earrings ! so many earrings ! do you know that ear has so many nerves, by putting all these earrings, means u are blocking them.
Then she press one and said "this is for the back",
and pressing another one and said "this is for the reproduction" (!!!!!)

The word reproduction rings my ALARM !
I mean, I really want to have kids, so I need to keep my reproduction system went smoothly, right ?!

I took off my earrings, and she continue to press my ears, damn its so painful !
Like super HURT !
I can feel my ears becoming hot, and I can feel some blood flow there.
It is really hurt at first, but then the pain becoming mild, as the blockage has been taken care of.

So, Starting from today, I say goodbye to 3 pairs of earrings.
I will only wear 1 pair from now on (oh well, I might wear more once in a while)

This is for the sake of my reproduction system.
I'm sorry I've been abusing you for 12 years.
Please be good now.

Memories of house maid

Since I was a kid, I almost always have a house maid.
She is there to help cleaning the house.
Sweep and mop the floor, wash and iron the laundry, watering the garden, dusting, clean the bathroon, etc.

Some of them stay for several years, while some of them only stay for few months or sometimes just 2 days !!

I still have some memories of them,  and I will share it with you.

Here they are.
1. Mba Mut
Mba Mut work in our house when I was in elementary school, probably when I'm in the 5-6th grade.
She was a teenager, probably around 15-16 years old.
She work at our house from morning to noon, and come again in the afternoon around 4pm to help mom watering the plants.

One time mom and dad went to Europe for 20days, and I stayed at home with my brother, Oma was in charge to take care of us, so she stayed with us. During this time, Mom instructed Mba Mut to stay in our house, so Oma could get any help in anytime.

Mba Mut sleep together with me in my bedroom. She sleep on the lower bed, and I'm on the upper bed.
She tell me some stories from her village, sometimes pretty scary one ! I got scared and end up sleeping while holding her hands.
She is also my 1st student, I taught her english, by gave her 1 page of dictionary to memorized, and give her the test the day after. It was fun.
She let me play with her hair (she is really clean), and she love to joke around with me.

From mom she learn to sew and make clothes, and now she have her own sewing machine and make clothes for other people in her village

Right now she is married and have 1 daughter. She sms my mom sometimes, and it's always good to hear news from her.

2. Mba Siti and Mba Sri.
They worked for us when I was younger, probably around 1st grade of elementary school
It was Mba Siti first, followed by Mba Sri.
Mba Siti can't read at all.
Both of them are very nice and patient with us.

Mba Sri quit to get married,
Mba Siti quit for a while, but end up working for us again later on.

3. Mba Enje
She used to be Tante Keng's maid.
But then she worked for us, I think since I'm in high school till now (there's a gap in between, which replaced by Marni)
She is nice, but a little bit lazy.
She is very honest and she is okay with dogs.
She give a good massage
and she is very chatty

Thats some of our maid. :)

9 days at Indo (day 9 : getting ready)

This is the last day.
I'm totally sad to leave home.

I had cried since 2 nights before, I'm so scared to go back.
But I have to.
Another 10 months to go till I'm done with my promise. I can do it and time will fly fast.

Me and ma start our day by take me to the accupressure therapist. My right pinky hurts and powerless, I don't know why.
We got there, and she is kind of a psychic, she told me that I shouldn't take the job problem to home, she reminds me to re-connect with God, and to get my own me-time.
Basically she knows what bothers me a lot for the last 2 years, my job. The ultimate source of my stress and not so happy life.

She told me that when I got some problem, I shouldn't panic first. I should calm down first, and think about my problem wisely.

I should listen to her.

Oh and after the therapy, my pinky doesnt hurts anymore.

Then we took bill to the Metropolitan Mal Bekasi, to eat noodle, then Bill bought some Batik shirt and ties, I bought birthday presents for Chase.
I also got some book at Gramedia to bring back to Shanghai.
And Bill bought some Indonesia traditional music.

After that we went to Carrefour to buy food to bring back to Shanghai.
Me and Bill shop like crazy.
Lots of indomies, and seasonings, and sweet soysauce, Hot sauce, and paste for food.

Back home and pack our bag.
I stayed at my parents room the whole time. Really hard not to cry, because I was so sad to leave home. The peaceful life of mine.

Around 630pm, after saw my brother and my sister in law, we left to airport.
We stop by at Nasi uduk place, then to My grandma's house.
We ate there, and then I pray in front of my Grandma's, ask her for helping me for strength, etc.
Then we left.

Arrive at airport, check in, then seat a little bit with my parents.
10.30 I go inside to the gate, and my parents + bill go home.
I didn't cry.
I'm so proud of my self.

9 days at Indo (day 8 : around Jakarta)

Today Pa take a day off from work, and he will come with us to go around Jakarta.

So first we drove to Soto Betawi Bang Mus at Jatinegara Area,it was delicious, Bill loves it sooooo damn much !

After that we went to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, me and Bill wander around a little bit, while parents stay drove the car following us.

Then we saw the Komodo Dragon, and it was a fat one ! hahaha...but Bill was so excited to see the dragon,and so do I !!

We decided to watch the Imax Theater, and its about the Beautiful Indonesia.
The film is old, was made on 1978, but it was nice to see how beautiful my country is.
But also painful, because now Indonesia is kinda messy comparing to the old days.
It will get better, thats for sure :)

It was raining after the Imax, so I bought and umbrella and took the car to pick pa, ma and Bill.

Then I drove to Kelapa Gading Sports Mal, then we all get massage. It was nice and relaxing.
After 2 hours massage, I drove home, was so sleepy !
But I made it to arrive home safely...

It was a pleasant day with my family...

In the night time we got together again, with Maria-Rendy, Devi-Clemen, Me and Bill at Pizza Hut.
It was nice. Then we went to Devi's house.
It was so nice to talk with my 2 bestfriends since I was a kid.
And Bill is also nice to get himself busy, when we were talking.

9 days at Indo (Day 7 : shopping)

I woke up early in the morning, and as always, walk straight to my parents bedroom :)
We do some errands there...hehe...then took a shower.

Papa left for a meeting during noon, and me, ma and bill went to the mal !
We go to Plaza Senayan, and then walk across to Senayan City.

There I saw ARI WIBOWO !!!
I love to see him since I was a kid !
He is soooo handsome and tall !! Jeez ! I was so speechless, and I was so shy I don't even dare to ask him to take pictures... -_-"

Well, thats it.

Three of us ate sour sally,mom shopped a little bit at The Body Shop then we go back again to PS.

There I bought 2 bags ^_____^
YAY to nice bags !

After shopping we ate at foodcourt. Me and ma got bakso, while Bill ate some kebab.

After that we went back home, and in the night time I went to Devi's house.
Seeing Devi and Celine again. It was fun :)

9 days at indo (day 5, Final Preparation)

In the morning, me, Ma and Pa took Bill to Hanindo Jakarta Office, because today Bill will gave a bicycle ride with Pak John. He arrived 1 hour late due to the problem with his bike's tire, then we left Bill with him. *Thanx, pak John*

3 of us ate bubur at Kota area, the go home.
Arrived home I went to my parent's bedroom, and fall asleep there till my Aunties came :D
Aunt Keng, Aunt Yeye, And Uncle Jaya is at our house. We are going to prepare the flowers for my brother's house decoration. So there I am, trying to help. ^__^
Done with the flowers, we brought them to my brother's house, and put them as decoration. WE also helped to clean up the house, so they could stay there for the next day.
Tomorrow my bro is getting MARRIED !!!!

House is done at around 3, oh, and around 11 papa went to pick up Bill at the office. After that Bill ate lunch and went straight to bed. He just rode 43km on bicycle !!!
Pak John, thanx again !

In the night time we grab some dinner together (me, pa, ma and bill), then we went to bed earlier.
We got to wake up early tomorrow :)

9 days at indo (day 4, meeting with Rian and JOJOBA)

So this is the day that I've been waiting for.

Meeting #1
I will meet Rian (and his son Carlson) at Mal Taman Anggrek around 3pm.
Me and Bill left the house around 2pm, and got a little bit stuck in the traffic so that we were 10 mins late for the meeting.
Rian is my friend from a forum which I joined. I often talk with her on YM. This is the 1st time I will meet her.
She is very nice. She brought us Ayam Bumbu Rujak !! and when I met her at Pizza Hut, she was feeding Carlson.
Carlson, 3y.o is very cute. He speaks only english !! communication between him and Bill went really well. In fact, Bill likes Carlson, and he took good care of Carlson while we, girls walk and talk the whole time.

We wander around the mall, and then we sat at O la la Cafe. Talk talk talk talk, and then Jojoba is coming, so Rian decided to go home.

We took her and Carlson to the lobby to take taxi, Carlson was carried by me, and then when he was about to get into the taxi (held by Rian now) he said "Aunty...Aunty..." *so cute !*

Not so long after Rian left, she called me and I can hear Carlson crying in the background... Haha, he misses us !!
And in the night time Rian text me and said "Carlson said that he misses uncle Wheel (Bill)"
Thats very sweet of him, and honestly, we love Carlson !!

And the 2nd Meeting : JOJOBA !!!

They're my group of friends since college.
And that day I met them, most of them !!
Itine, Ika, Yatty, Ledy, Sherly (+ Yansen), Penju, Devi (+ Dennis) oh, of course Bill still there :D
We ate at Little Penang, Malaysian food, delicious !!
And then we talk talk talk and talk.
After that, we walked to Mothercare (yeah, baby shop !! I love !!) since my friends need to by some gift, and then we went to eat Tutti Fruti, a yoghurt place and it was fun. Ledy got the most from all of us, it was funny !! Good old Jojoba, always Noisy !!!

Since there were so many of them I didnt get the chance to talk too much with each of them. But just to be there and surrounded by friends and good food is good enough. I laughed a lot that day. My friends are so funny !
Bill got accompanied by Dennis, and seems like they have good conversation there.

I took Ika, Yatty and Edison with me and drove them to their house before I finally arrived home at 00.00 and just sleep to dead. lol

It was a fun day for me and Bill (and suppose for my friends too)

Bill got a new watch ! YAY !!

9 days at indo (day 1-3)

Day 1,
15.30, Arrive at Soekarno-Hatta airport, and after waiting forever for my luggage, I got out and have my parents waiting for me !! YAY !! Soooo happy to see them.

We go to eat Sundanese food (Gurame goreng, Sayur asem, Tempe-Tahu)right away, and then we went to Pluit area, to take a short rest at Hotel Sanno, while we are waiting for Bill to arrive at 11pm.

It was nice in the hotel, we just talk talk and talk all the time in bed. And when its 11, we left to pick up Bill, which apparently has been waiting for us for a little bit. Poor little thing !

Then we went home :)


Day 2
In the morning,around 8 me and Bill went to the Chinese embassy at Kuningan area. Bill needs to get his Chinese working visa done. Arrived there around 9, then go through all the process and find out that we should have some documents photocopied. So we try to find photocopy place at Mal Ambassador, but too early so that they're not open yet. So we went out, and find a photocopy place. There we met a girl, named Rosma who is also doing her working visa. She works in Ningbo, not so far away from Shanghai. Me and her talk all the time and we promise to keep in touch (which so far we did)
After the embassy stuffs are done, me and Bill walk around at ITC Kuningan and ate some delicious Indonesian food (we ate Masakan Manado, yummy !) Bill bought another white shirt for my brother's wedding, then since we're tired, we drove home.
Aroun 6pm, All of us, Me, Bill, Ma, Pa, My Brother and Anita (his soon to be wife) go to Kuningan area again, to meet my boss at his restaurant. He treats us there. The meeting time is at 7.30, but he arrived almost 1 hour late.
The dinner was good, Italian food. But honestly, I prefer to eat Indonesian food. Thank you very much. Boss loves the way Bill ate. Bill ate a lot !! :D

Day 3
Today we pretty much stay spent our time to do some errands. I need to get my dress fixed, and we go around here and there to make the last preparation for my bro's wedding. It was nice to be around my family all the time. And my aunties loves Bill. They said that he is a very good boy. Haha, and aunties love to feed Bill. They make him eat lots of stuffs, which he happily did. I love him for he is very very nice. :)
And it is nice that he is really willing to communicate with them, and my aunties, conversation conducted in English.

Night time is time for the General Rehearsal at the Church. So we all went there, my family, Anita's family, then at the church we met Tante Keng, Tante Nani, Oom Jaya and Jason my cousin who is still at 3rd grade, he is the ring bearer for the wedding.

The GR went well, Bill and I know what to do, so does the bride and groom to be, the family member and the ring bearer. It was so hot at the church !!
After GR 2 families (mine and Anita) went to eat at Bakmi Simpur, near our house. After that we went home and my brother took them to their house.
